Call Parking Overview
Call Parking allows callers to be placed in virtual Parking Spots. The Caller can then be picked up by another phone on the account to continue the phone call.
This is similar to when a caller is placed on Hold. The caller can then be picked up again to continue the conversation by taking the caller Off Hold. With Call Parking, however, the original party does not have to be the one who resumes the call. Anyone who has Park Buttons on their phones or knows which Parking Spot Number the call was parked at can retrieve the call from its Parking Spot.
Dynamic Call Parking
Dynamic Call Parking lets the system determine which parking spot number the call will be parked at (usually a value such as 701, 702, or 703).
Dynamic call parking is a great feature for devices that have limited or no line keys that would normally be used for static call parking. The cordless handsets most commonly use this, but all phones can utilize Dynamic Parking.
Placing a Call on Park Dynamically
The Default Code to enter for Dynamic Call Parking on Stratus is *** (Star Star Star)
Warning: If your account has had extra modifications made to its Dial Plan by request, your code may be different.
When you want to put a call on Park, simply press *** (Star Star Star) during your phone call.
✓ The system will place the other party in a Parking Spot and will play an Audio Confirmation message that informs you that the call has been parked and which Parking Spot Number the call has been parked at.
Retrieving a Call on Park
Calls can be picked up from Park from any phone on the account. If the phone has Call Park buttons on their phone, the indicator light for a park should have turned RED to indicate that the park is occupied. Pressing the line key button will pick up the parked call.
Alternatively, any phone can also call into the Call Park Number that the call is parked at (701, 702, 703, etc) just like calling an internal extension, and the call will be picked up at that phone.
Warning: If your account has had extra Call Parks added, your Call Park Numbers may be different.
