Caller ID allows you to identify yourself and your business to those you are calling. Sometimes, a more personal touch can help make the interaction with your end-customer better. For example, using a local number when calling a specific region can create a sense of familiarity and trust with the person on the other end of the line. It shows that you are making an effort to connect with them on a more personal level, which can help to build a stronger relationship with your customers.
While SpectrumVoIP does not offer a Dynamically Automatic method for changing caller id based on the number dialed, we do have methods of having control over the outbound caller id that is used for a call.
Portal Settings
Users with Office Manager access or similar are able to control various settings for the users on their account. This includes the Caller ID that is used for outbound calls.
This setting can be modified at any time via the Stratus Web Portal. This solution is good for assigning specific outbound caller id's per user. For example, you can assign all users at a specific location the same local outbound caller id for when they make their specific outbound calls.
StratusLINK
StratusLINK is a Google Chrome Extension. In this browser add-on, users are able to select their outbound caller ID that is used in Click To Call situations.
Prefix/Code
Most common is a 'prefix code' that is used to indicate to our systems that they want to use a different pre-defined caller id.
This prefix can be programmed as a button on their phone so that they can just press the button corresponding to the CID they want to use, then dial the destination number and press send.
