Adjusting the Audio Settings of a Yealink Cordless Phone

Just like with desk phones, Yealink cordless handsets can have their ringer and call volume settings adjusted. This article will explore how to configure these settings, along with ringtones and advisory tones.

Configuring a Handset's Audio Settings

Adjusting Ringer Volume

The ringer volume can be adjusted using the menu or the predefined shortcuts (left and right navigation keys) on the keypad when the handset is idle. 

The handset supports 5 different ringer volume levels. The default level is 3.

 

Using the Navigational Keys

To adjust ringer volume using the predefined shortcuts:  

  1. Press or when the handset is idle to adjust the ringer's volume.
    • Press to decrease the ringer volume, or press to increase the ringer volume.
  2. Press the Save soft key to accept the change or the Back soft key to cancel.

Using the Menu

To adjust the ringer volume using the Menu:

  1. Press the OK button and navigate to the Settings section.
  2. Go to option 2.Audio.
  3. Select Ring Tones and then Volume.
  4. Adjust the volume using the or navigational keys.
  5. Press the Save soft key to finalize these changes.
     

Adjusting Call Volume

To adjust the call volume while on a call, press or press to adjust the volume of the currently engaged audio devices (earpiece, headset or loudspeaker). 

Make sure to press the Save button to apply these changes. 
 

Adjusting Ringtones

In the Settings of the handset, the ringtones used by the phone for incoming and intercom calls can be adjusted to fit the User's preference. 

To do so…

  1. Press the OK button and navigate to the Settings section.
  2. Go to option 2.Audio.
  3. Select Ring Tones and then Melodies.
  4. From the Melodies menu, the ringtone for Intercom Calls' and the phone's own ringtone can be adjusted. 
    • Using the navigation keys, users can move up or down to the desired ringtone and use the or keys listen to and select a new ringtone. 
  5. Press the Save soft key to finalize the changes made.
     

Adjusting Advisory Tones

To navigate to the menu to enable/disable different advisory tones…

  1. Press the OK button and navigate to the Settings section.
  2. Go to option 2.Audio.
  3. Select Advisory Tones.
  4. From the Advisory Tones menu, the Keypad Tone, Confirmation Tone, and Low Battery Tone can be enabled or disabled. 
    • Using the navigation keys, users can move up or down to the desired tone and use the or keys to enable or disable the selected tone. 
  5. Press the Save soft key to finalize the changes made.
