Changing Addresses Information Needed by Our Team New Address Network and Internet Connection Status Status of the Phones

Changing Addresses

At some point, you may need to move offices or buildings at an address, or outright change addresses altogether. When the main address for the phones changes, we recommend giving our technical support team a call or email to let our team know of any important updates to your service address and how the internet network is configured. Doing so can help prevent any future issues with calls.

Information Needed by Our Team

New Address

SpectrumVoIP registers your office's address with your business number to allow emergency services to respond quickly. Having this address registered also ensures that your call gets routed to the correct emergency response center.

Network and Internet Connection Status

When businesses move offices, they often will switch ISPs (Internet Service Providers) or replace their network equipment. If a new router/modem or firewall is installed, we highly recommend calling your ISP or IT team to ensure the router is configured for use with VoIP services. To do this, show them our recommended firewall and router settings.

✓ Making sure the phones' SIP traffic is prioritized by your ISP's network equipment will help prevent any connectivity and audio issues for calls.

If any extra equipment is needed for the layout of the new network, ethernet cables and Wi-Fi adapter dongles can be bought from our online store.

If the phones are having issues connecting after moving offices, call our technical support team to have your phone calls temporarily forwarded.

Status of the Phones

When the phones are moved to a different location, all extensions and settings should remain the same. Our team may require a call regarding the status of your phones after a move if…

  • The phones will be connecting statically to a new network device.
  • The phones are having issues connecting and updating.
  • A phone is damaged during the move.
