Enable Multicast Paging
By default, paging is disabled on the handsets just in case the handsets should not be playing intercom messages while users walk around with them. If you would like a handset to receive pages from desk phones and other handsets, do the following:
- Press the OK button to access its menu and select Settings or press the Settings softkey.
- In the Settings menu, select Advanced Settings → PTT/Paging.

- In the PTT/Paging menu, select Multicast Paging.
- While hovering over the Multicast Paging option, press the Left or Right navigational key to set it as Enabled.
- Hold down the On-Hook/Power button for a couple of seconds and release to exit all menus.
- If needed, place a test page by holding down the Paging button located under the Volume buttons on the left side of the handset.
Add Additional Paging Channels
If you have different groups of phones that should be able to page each other separately, you can add more channels to your different handsets.
- Press the OK button to access its menu and select Settings or press the Settings softkey.
- In the Settings menu, select Advanced Settings → PTT/Paging.

- In the PTT/Paging menu, select Multicast Paging.
- In the Multicast Paging menu, select Channel.
- In the Channel list, select an option that shows “Not configured”
- In the menu, input the following:
- Multicast Address - 224.0.1.15
-
Port - 10001
IMPORTANT: The Port used by each channel will need to be unique for each channel.
- Channel Name - Name for finding the group, such as “Sales” or “Warehouse”.
- Press the OK softkey to save this channel.
-
Repeat steps 5-7 for the other handsets that should be assigned to that channel.
Quick Tip: You can also add more multicast channels to other devices capable of paging, such as desk phones, paging horns, and more.
Adding a multicast channel to a phone or paging device may require remotely accessing the device's web interface.

Page or Intercom Other Phones
Similar to desk phones, your Grandstream handset has a Page button that can be used to page other devices. This button is located below the volume buttons and has four raised dots.
As long as your handset has paging enabled, you can start sending and receiving pages amongst yourself and other devices.
Page All Devices
By default, your Grandstream handset should have its first paging channel set to page through the multicast IP address that the desk phones and paging devices we provision are set to use. This allows you to use that main paging channel to page all devices that are on the same internet network.
To page all devices using your Grandstream handset, hold down the Page button on the side of the handset underneath the volume buttons.
This will prompt the handset to page over its default channel, which is the main channel all other devices are assigned as well.
Page a Specific Channel
If you have added additional paging channels to your handset, you can page through a specific channel by doing the following:
- Press the Page button on the side of the handset.
- Use the down arrow to hover over the channel you want to page.
- Hold down the Page button on the side until a page is initiated.
- Speak through the handset to ensure the other device(s) is receiving audio.
Intercom a Specific Person
One of the feature codes you can use by default on your handset is the 08 code. When you dial 08 and a user's extension number, an intercom call is initiated with that specific user's phone. This is one of the main ways you can page devices separately.
For example… If 08100 is dialed on a phone, the phone with extension 100 receives an intercom call over its speakers or receiver if the receiver is off its hook.
