Cancel Your SpectrumVoIP Services

Discover how you can close your SpectrumVoIP account and cancel any services.

Cash Accounts Out of Contract In Contract In-House Contract

At some point, it may be necessary to close your SpectrumVoIP account. As much as we would be sorry to see you go, we understand that switching providers may be necessary for your business. 

The steps you would need to take to fully close your SpectrumVoIP account will differ depending on the status of your SpectrumVoIP account:

  • Cash Account - Your services are pay-as-you-go without a leaser needed to help fund your services or equipment. 
  • In Contract - You currently have a service contract with either a third-party lender or SpectrumVoIP. Your service contract may include an equipment package, VoIP service package, and/or an internet package depending on the equipment and services your business needed at the time of funding. 
  • Out of Contract - You used to have a service contract, but you have either completed your contract or paid your buyout total. 

If you have an existing account with SpectrumVoIP, reference the following sections to learn more about how you can cancel your services according to the status of your account.

Cash Accounts

When you request your cash account to be closed, your services with SpectrumVoIP will be cancelled and billing will be stopped within an estimated 30-day timeframe. 

Once you have ported out your phone numbers and services to a new provider/carrier, be sure to email billing@spectrumvoip.com to have your cancellation request finalized so that billing can be stopped. 

 


Out of Contract

If your contract has ended with us, you can cancel your SpectrumVoIP services if needed. To ensure your business is ready to cancel your SpectrumVoIP services and move on to a new service provider, the following should be completed:

  1. Contact our Porting Department by emailing support@spectrumvoip.com to start porting your phone numbers to your new service provider. 
  2. Check with our Billing team to see if any equipment will need to be returned.

    Note: If your equipment will need to be returned, our Billing team will provide you an address to ship the equipment to.

    Please include a note that lists your Account Number, Name, and the Name of your Company.

     
  3. Once your phone numbers have been ported and your equipment has been successfully returned, please contact our Billing Department to finalize your cancellation request. Once your request has been approved and finalized, your billing will be cancelled.

 


In Contract

If you are currently in a contract for your services, please contact our Billing Department to discuss how you can cancel your services. An exit strategy that may be suggested could include the following:

  1. Contact the leasing company listed in your contract and inform them that you would like to cancel your services, port your phone numbers to a different service provider, and return your equipment. 

    NOTE: The leasing company may request that you pay a buyout figure to close your existing contract. 

     
  2. The leasing company should send you a confirmation letter once your buyout has been paid and your account has been closed. This confirmation letter will act as a 30-day cancellation notice. 
  3. Contact our Billing Department by emailing billing@spectrumvoip.com to notify our team of your intent to cancel services and provide a copy of your confirmation letter from the leasing company.
  4. Contact our Porting Department to start porting your phone numbers to your new service provider. 
  5. Check with our Billing team to see if any equipment will need to be returned.

    Note: If your equipment will need to be returned, our Billing team will provide you an address to ship the equipment to.

    Please include a note that lists your Account Number, Name, and the Name of your Company.

     
  6. Once your phone numbers have been ported and your equipment has been successfully returned, please contact our Billing Department to finalize your cancellation request. Once your request has been approved and finalized, your billing will be cancelled.

 


In-House Contract

If you are currently in a contract through SpectrumVoIP, you will need to follow an exit strategy for ending your services. The following may need to be completed to ensure your account is ready to be closed:

  1. Settle your contract with SpectrumVoIP by paying your contracted buyout figure. If you are not sure how much your contract buyout is, please contact our Billing team by emailing billing@spectrumvoip.com. 
  2. Contact our Porting department by emailing support@spectrumvoip.com to have your phone numbers ported over to your new service provider. 
  3. Check with our Billing team to see if any equipment will need to be returned.

    Note: If your equipment will need to be returned, our Billing team will provide you an address to ship the equipment to.

    Please include a note that lists your Account Number, Name, and the Name of your Company.

     
  4. Once your phone numbers have been ported and your equipment has been successfully returned, please contact our Billing Department to finalize your cancellation request.
