Access Phone Manager for a Phone

To change a phone's Directory source, you will need to access the Phone Manager tool for a phone. To do so…

  1. Visit the Inventory page of Stratus.
  2. Click the Phone Hardware tab to view your phones.
  3. Click the Phone Manager icon next to the device needing the change.

✔ Clicking the icon will pull up the Phone Manager page for the phone.

Apply a Directory Source

The source of the directory will determine what contacts a phone will display when the Remote Phonebook of the Directory feature is accessed.

To adjust a phone's directory source…

  1. Click the Directory button.
    or

✔ Doing so will pull up the Phone Manager Directory modal.

  2. Use the Directory Source dropdown to select a directory source (determined by the first line user assigned).
    • All Contacts
    • Favorites
    • My Contacts
    • Coworkers
    • Departments
  3. Use the Directory section to view the contacts that will be shown.

  4. Sort the contacts by Extension Number, First Name, or Last Name.
  5. Click the eye icon to hide/show a contact.

✔ The hidden user's name will grey out while the eye will appear with a slash.

To undo all the changes at one time, select Reset to Default.

  6. Click the Done button to apply these changes.

Note: Once the directory has been updated, you will need to reboot the phone to allow the phone to update. Alternatively, you can wait until the phone does its nightly update.

Apply Directory Entries to Line Keys

To apply User (BLF) keys based off of the directory on the phone, click the 3-Dot icon next to the line where the series of BLS button will be applied and select either Cascade Directory (static) or Cascade Directory (Dynamic).

The Cascade Directory (static) option auto fills the selected button and all subsequent buttons with static BLFs for the current directory entries.

Note: Using the Static option will have the phone apply BLF buttons according to how the Directory source of the phone has been set. Phone Manager will only apply as many BLF buttons as would be needed to match the number of internal contacts there are.

These BLF buttons will have labels that match the current names of the users. If your organization frequently changes names for your users, you can remove the label to make sure the BLF references the user's name in Stratus instead.

The Cascade Directory (dynamic) option auto fills the selected button and all subsequent buttons with dynamic BLFs, which update whenever the phone resyncs.

Note: Using the Dynamic option will add BLF button spots for all buttons on the phone, even if that button will not have a BLF after changes are applied.

If there are buttons that are empty, you can find the spot where the first empty button is and click the 3-dot icon and select Cascade Button Clear. Doing so will clear out that button and the rest of the phone's buttons.
