Review Your Holiday Time Frame Method 1: For a Custom Holiday Time Frame Method 2: For a Holidays Time Frame

Scope: Only Office Managers will be able to create and adjust time frames for the organization and all users.

Site Managers will be able to adjust the Time Frames for their Site's users.

Basic Users can only adjust their own Time Frames.

To ensure calls during your observed holidays are being routed to a different destination, you can create a holiday time frame that tells the system when the holiday call routing will be active. If you have set up holiday routing before, you can edit the Holiday time frame to add more holidays and holiday-related dates that calls should be routed elsewhere.

Review Your Holiday Time Frame

To view your current time frames…

  1. Navigate to the Time Frames page.
  2. Click Domain or click the Edit icon to pull up a list of the time frames for your whole business.

Quick Tip: Alternatively, you can click the Add icon to quickly navigate to the Add a Domain Time Frame menu.

  3. Click the name of your Holiday time frame.
  4. Follow one of the two methods in the sections below depending on how you set up your original Holiday time frame:
    • Method 1 - Follow the Method 1 section if you are using a Custom time frame that includes official holidays and specific dates that are not technically holidays.
    • Method 2 - Follow the Method 2 section if you are using a Holiday time frame because your company is only closed for days that are officially recognized as holidays.

Method 1: For a Custom Holiday Time Frame

Using a Custom time frame for scheduling holidays can be a great way to keep extra dates and official holidays grouped together. If you have another date or holiday to schedule, do the following:

  1. On the Custom Time Frame's page, click the Add button and select either Specific Dates or Holidays depending on the kind of date you are adding.

Follow the module below to add a holiday or specific date to the custom time frame:

    Add Holidays

    1. Click the Add button and select Holidays.

    2. In the Add Holidays menu, input the following information:

        •  Holidays - Use the search bar to find and select a holiday.

Quick Tip: If needed, use the dropdown filters to look for holidays observed in specific regions.

To remove a holiday, click the Delete icon.

        •  Time - Select the range of time that this time frame will be active for, such as your business hours.

Quick Tip: If you are closed for the full day and you do not need your normal after hours routed to be followed, you can leave the Time boxes set to 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

If you are closing early, select the time your team is leaving the office using the first box.

If you need to add a break between these times, click the Add icon.

        •  Recurrence - If needed, select whether or not these holidays will be observed yearly.

        •  Ends - If you set these holidays to recur yearly, you can select a date when this time frame will stop being observed.

    3. Click the Next button or go to the Observed Holidays tab.

    4. On the Observed Holidays tab, input the following information:

        •  Workweek - Select the days that your business is normally open for.
        •  If holiday is on - Select rules for how a holiday should be observed if it occurs on a specific day of the week.

Quick Tip: If you only observe the holiday for the weekday the holiday falls on, you can set every workday to Observe on holiday only.

    Add Specific Dates

    1. Click the Add button and select Specific Dates.

    2. In the Add Specific Dates menu, input the following information:

        •  Specific dates - Click the date and time boxes to select the starting and ending dates and times for the holiday.

Note: Once you select a date, click the Add button.

        •  Recurrence - If this date will be observed again in the future, select how often the date will be observed.

Quick Tip: If each date you are selecting has a specific way to recur, you can edit the date later and add recurrence, or you can add the dates one-by-one.

  2. Click the Save button after you add your holiday or specific date.
  3. Continue adding more holidays and specific dates until you have added the different holiday breaks your company observes.

Method 2: For a Holidays Time Frame

Some companies may only close their office on the day of a holiday. If there are not any extra dates you are closed that relate to a holiday while not being the official date of a holiday, you can create a Holidays time frame.

  1. On the Holidays tab, input the following information:

  2. Click the Next button or go to the Observed Holidays tab.
  3. If needed, adjust the following on the Observed Holidays tab:
    • Workweek - Select the days that your business is normally open for.
    • If holiday is on - Select rules for how a holiday should be observed if it occurs on a specific day of the week.

Quick Tip: If you only observe the holiday for the weekday the holiday falls on, you can set every workday to Observe on holiday only.

  4. When you are ready, click the Save button.

✔ Now your Holiday time frame should show that more holidays have been added.
