By default, your Grandstream handset's Local Phonebook will be empty so that you can add contacts as needed for just the handset. Adding contacts to the Local Phonebook can make calling people and starting a conference call or transfer easier.

If you have contacts in the Stratus web portal that you would like to show on the handset, you can prompt the handset to pull those contacts using the Phone Manager tool of the Stratus web portal.

  1. Log into your Stratus web portal.
  2. Navigate to the Phones page.

Quick Tip: If you are a Stratus admin, you can go to the Phone Hardware tab of the Inventory page to view and edit any handset and phone that has been added to your account.

  3. Click the Phone Manager icon next to your handset.
  4. For the confirmation message that appears, click the Yes button.
  5. On the Phone Manager page, click the Directory button.
  6. In the Phone Manager Directory menu, do the following as needed:
    • Use the Choose a directory source dropdown to select a specific group of contacts to show on the handset.
    • To sort the contacts differently, click the Extension dropdown and select whether to sort these contacts by extension number, last name, or first name.
    • To hide a contact from the handset, click the Eye icon next to the contact that should be hidden.
  7. When you are done with your changes, click the Done button.
  8. To apply these changes to your handset, click the Up button next to the Save button and select Save and resync.

Quick Tip: Alternatively, you can click the Save button and wait to apply the changes. When you are ready for handset to update its contacts, you can hold down its On-hook/Power button to prompt it to reboot.

  9. Give the handset a few minutes to reboot and update itself.
  10. After waiting, press the OK button on the handset and check its Contacts menu to confirm your Stratus contacts are now showing as intended.
